The Via Ferrata Els Sants de La Pedra (K3/K3+) in La Vall d’Uixó (Castellón) opened to the public in January 2023. It’s a new, well-equipped, and fun ferrata.
It has everything: monocable bridge, plank bridge, pendulum, and swings. It’s short and the most difficult steps are few. To pass the swings, you need balance and calm. It’s not too complicated.

From Valencia, Via ferrata Els Sants de La Pedra can be reached in an hour (about 50km) and is well indicated on Google Maps. The last stretch of road is a forest path. We parked a little before the official car park and walked.

The path is well indicated and signposted. The approach is about 15 minutes if you start from where our track starts or 5 minutes if you park at the official parking area.
To get to the start of the via ferrata, you’ll have to go down a safety-equipped section. The path is well-marked the entire way until you reach the first climbing section of the via ferrata.
Once on the climbing part, you follow the path where you will encounter the following obstacles:
The first of the cable bridges is the harder of the two, but not overly complicated. Perhaps it’s the awkward manner in which you must get onto the bridge in the first place.
In order to get on, you must first climb up and through the cables to position yourself in what is most comfortable for you. To me, the cable placement was at a bit of an odd angle but once you’re on, you continue with no difficulties.
Second is the plank bridge. It was a bit on the loose side when we did it but the planks are wide and easy to walk on.
A great addition to Via ferrata Els Sants de La Pedra is the chain swing. Despite it being unnecessary, it is a fun obstacle regardless.
The operation is simple as with all other chain swings. Just clip into it with a carabiner or attach your resting lanyard. Make sure your safety lanyard carabiners are attached to the cable and jump!
You won’t have to go very far to reach the other side so don’t be afraid to give it a good push and have fun with it.
Via ferrata Els Sants de La Pedra may not be much to write home about if it weren’t for it’s flagship pass, the trapeze swings. Named “El Paso del Pajarito” due to it’s resemblance to the perches in a birdcage, this installation passes underneath a rock ceiling with no ledge beneath it to catch a clumsy climber.
By far, this is the section that is most attractive and scary at the same time. I won’t lie, my first time on this pass was not the most graceful. Once you get the hang of it, though, it isn’t as hard as it looks.
On this route, the route ends right next to where it started. After the trapeze swings, there is a small vertical ascent that ends at the top and back on the main road.
